♠  At just 19 years, Alice Phoebe Lou has gone from South Africa on a trip she made and the most famous street musician in Berlin within a short time this year for SXSW in Austin, the CMJ in New York, The Great Escape in Brighton and the TED Global event in London led. In every free minute she was working on her debut album ‘Orbit’ and its unused sound their personal development is nothing after. Taken with musician friends around the world, you can hear the multilayered indie folk with the intuitive feeling for blues and jazz, and the right touch of electronics all the passion that has gone into this album.♠  Alice Phoebe Lou is a force to be reckoned with. Growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, Alice knew that as soon as she finished school she would pack up her things and see the world. She left home at the age of 18 on an unplanned trip to Europe, and discovered her love for street performance as she travelled from city to city. When she moved to Berlin a year later, she started her career as a street musician in earnest, drawing in an increasing number of listeners every time she played at ‘her office’ on street corners and train stations.
♠  Now, after almost 3 years in Berlin, Alice has become a fixture of the city’s vibrant music scene, her voice floating down the famous Warschauer Strasse or brightening up the day at the Mauerpark on Sundays. Despite strong interest from various record companies, Alice has kept to her independent spirit and remained a street musician. The few venue shows Alice has played have sold out, the most recent one featuring dancing, poetry, and various instrumental collaborations in the magical setting of Berlin’s Heimathafen.                                                           © Photo by Romy Maxime
♠  Alice stands for that part of you that knows the world should somehow be different, and rears its head occasionally in defiance of the norms, the rules, and the crushing inequality that is our modern life. She tells this story in her lyrics, asks us to be kinder to one another and explores how it feels to be alive, all the while lighting the world up around her with her infectious charisma. It’s undeniable.
♠  Her debut album “Orbit” is due to be released in on the 22nd of April of 2016 in her own independent fashion. In the last year since she released her first EP, “Momentum”, Alice’s musical journey has taken her far beyond the German capital. Last fall, she filmed a short documentary on street performance in Paris, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Tel Aviv and Ramallah. This year she played on the streets of Austin at SXSW (as well as at the official showcase), at the Great Escape in Brighton, and at the TED Global event in London. Following popular demand, Alice traveled across Europe, playing shows and festival stages across the UK, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Hungary, New York and the up the US west coast. Her debut album is due to be released in the beginning of 2016 in her own independent fashion. Contact:
