Mikey’s inspiring pop sensibility is channeled through a dreamy landscape of sound that is as hypnotic as it is catchy, as upbeat as it is ambient. In March 2010, Blackbird Blackbird teamed up for a debut EP with Arcade Sound Ltd— home to artists such as Memoryhouse, Millionyoung, and Teen Daze. With his debut “Happy High EP” released as a free digital download, Mikey S. stood out as a performer not afraid to push the envelope with his creativity, personality, and nostalgic lyrics.

Blackbird Blackbird has been considered as a major player/leader in the up-and-coming underground indie/lo-fi movement due to the exponential growth he has shown on The Hype Machine, Gorilla Vs Bear, and Pitchfork. Blackbird Blackbird continues to swiftly produce high-quality and prolific indie-pop gems.
