Captain — For Irini (15th December 2017)
♣••♣ It hasn’t been easy — the band tragically lost their guitarist and best friend Mario to cancer last year. Nonetheless, ‘For Irini’ is ready to be heard and Mario shines bright within its songs. A fitting epitaph.

♣••♣ Captain occupied their own entirely unique position in the musical landscape of 2006, when their Trevor~Horn~produced debut album This Is Hazelville made it’s mark. With a broad palette of influences that range from Prefab Sprout and the Beach Boys through to Smashing Pumpkins and The Cure, the band’s own novel brand of expansive pop landed them with several top 40 hits.
♣••♣ Since then, the band has produced a mythical ‘lost’ second album, that still resides, gathering dust in the record company vaults, and members have worked on various side~projects in the interim as well as slowly putting together a new strain of Captain material to expand on their earlier sound.
