★ ‘A STRONG DEBUT ALBUM...’ FEATURED IN THE TOP FOLK FOLK ALBUMS OF 2014 — THE TELEGRAPH
★ ‘ THE GIRL’S GOT A GREAT VOICE AND I LOVE WHAT SHE DOES WITH TRADITIONAL MUSIC. THERE’S ONLY A COUPLE OF TRADITIONAL TRACKS ON THE ALBUM BUT THEY, TO ME ARE OUTSTANDING! IT'S A CRACKING ALBUM!’ — MIKE HARDING
★ ‘A MAJESTIC, CAPTIVATING AFFAIR. AN ALBUM TO TRULY IMMERSE YOURSELF IN...’ — RHYTHM AND BOOZE.
★ ‘THE SOUND OF THE SUMMER...’ — DIVA MAGAZINE
★ Claire’s distinctive and timeless sound evokes the aura of the Woodstock generation, with resonating lyrics, mellifluous vocals, and a subtle technical expertise reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris. A capable guitarist, Claire combines progressive songwriting and effortless voice to create pieces capturing both emotion and truth. The effect is an unforgettable presence; a unique style drawing on Folk Rock, Country, Blues, and Jazz; performed with a touch of old world magic.
★ Her songwriting career began at the tender age of just eleven. She enjoyed the Folk Rock scene of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, America and Carole King, yet felt something was lacking. By thirteen she had taught herself to play guitar, and had begun drawing from a diverse range of influences including The Rolling Stones, Clannad, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Bruce Springsteen, Chicken Shack, Dusty Springfield, Tony Joe White, Gram Parsons and a lot of other pre–mainstream and alternative Country artists. She went on to study Music at college, fine–tuning her performance skills at open mic sessions across Worcestershire. Her innovative solo performances steadily gained her a reputation, resulting in gigs, festivals and various radio performances across the country.
★ Nowadays Claire’s work gains increasing attention, working with other musicians including Prog–Rockers Da Vinci, for their Rock Opera: ‘Razor Blade World’ which aired in August 2009. Also, as a keen user of Freshman Guitars, as of September 2010 she has been featured in a number of adverts for the company, published internationally via guitar and music magazines.
★ 2014 saw the release of Claire’s highly anticipated, eponymous debut album. Guests include Clare Lindley (Stackridge) on fiddle and Maurice Hipkiss (Glen Campbell, Don McClean) on pedal steel guitar. The album has welcomed positive reviews and is featured in the Telegraph’s ‘Top Folk Albums Of 2014’ .
