The singer Ema Brabcová (formerly with Khoiba and Roe-deer) is making a comeback in her new Luno Project. The record will be released this year and debuted at concert in Prague's Rock Café on December 21, 2010. Besides Ema Brabcová, bass guitarist Šmity (formerly with The Prostitutes and Roe-deer), and percussionist Honza Janečka (Southpaw) participate in this project. Also, a young guitarist Martin Starý will make his first appearance with the group. After its debut concert in Prague on December 21, the band will be touring other cities in January and February, 2011.
Having sung with Khoiba until 2008, Ema Brabcová is now returning after more than two years. Earlier, she had played with The Roe-deer band. Fans will also remember Ema from her appearances with The Hookers. The Luno Project emerged in fall of 2009. Originally, it was Šmity's idea that Ema should release a solo album. Eventually, the record turned out to be a team project: Ema was joined by Šmity, and later on by other musicians. Brabcová explains, "We turned to Mejla from Vypsaná fixa and he came up with some great guitar riffs. Then Honza Janečka got involved. He's not only an excellent player, he's also a very cool guy. However, Mejla got too busy with his own band and had to give up on playing with us. In the end, his position as a guitarist was taken by Martin Starý."
The record is produced in collaboration by Ema and Šmity. Part of the recording is being done at their weekend houses, other parts with Boris Carloff at his studio. Patrik Kučera from "C" will appear on the recording as another guest guitarist. The CD recording will be done in a rather unconventional way - in a mix of both hi-fi and lo-fi, with the possibility of releasing a vinyl version as well. In that case, one side will be hi-fi, the other lo-fi.
Zpěvačka Ema Brabcová (ex-Khoiba, ex-Roe-deer) se vrací na scénu s novým projektem Luno. Deska, která vyšla v roce 2010, měla veřejnou poslechovou premiéru 21.12. v horním sále Pražského Rock Café. Společně s deskou byl premiérově promítán také nový videoklip. Koncertním křtem LUNO prošel 18.1. 2011 v Paláci Akropolis. Společně s Emou Brabcovou se na projektu podílí...baskytarista Šmity (ex-Prostitues, ex-Roe-deer) a bubeník Honza Janečka (Southpaw). Své místo v sestavě našel i mladý kytarista Martyn Starý. Po prvním koncertu 21.12. v Praze kapela v lednu a únoru vyrazila i do dalších měst.
Ema Brabcová se vrací po více než dvou letech. Do roku 2008 působila v Khoibě, předtím v Roe-deer a znalci vědí, že na konci 90s ji bylo možno vidět i v sestavě kapely Hookers. Projekt Luno vznikl na podzim roku 2009 na základě nápadu Šmityho, aby Ema vydala sólové album. Nakonec se jedná o kolektivní projekt. K Emě se přidal Šmity a následně i další hudebníci. “Oslovili jsme Mejlu z kapely Vypsaná fixa, kterej vymyslel super kytary, a Honzu Janečku, kterej je prostě krom toho, že umí hrát,taky boží člověk. Mejla nakonec kvůli vytíženosti ve Vypsaný Fixe nebude členem Luna. A tak místo kytaristy nakonec obsadil Martin Starý,” vysvětluje genezi projektu Brabcová.
Desku produkují Ema a Šmity společně. Částečně ji nahrávají na svých chatách a částečně ve studiu Soundevice u Borise Carloffa. Hostování na desce přijal i kytarista Patrik Kučera z "Céček". Deska je pojatá netradičně - jedna její "strana" je hi-fi a druhá "lo-fi". Deska vyšla i na vinylu a pojem “strana” tedy dostal zpět svůj původní význam.
