♦♦  Moaning Cities is a psychedelic Rock-n-Roll band formed in Brussels in late 2011 with an urge to play music together and blending blues roots, gritty rock guitars with sitar-driven psychedelia. Combining electric guitars and oriental instruments like the Sitar, Saz or Oudou was the natural way to combine Western and Eastern sounds, old and contemporary influences into one flow of inspiration that would reflect the contrasted and diverse characteristics of the cities that we live in and travel to.

♦♦♦   Quatre mecs, une fille et de la psyché : il n’en faut pas plus pour créer la bonne petite surprise made in Belgium de ce début d’année. Certes, les influences 60’s et 70’s sont claires. Mais assumées, entre les atmosphères rock un peu dark, les guitares cinglantes (« Bread and games ») et, plus original dans ce contexte, l’utilisation du sitar («Shipbreakers», «Easter»…).
♦♦♦   Moaning Cities est un groupe formé à Bruxelles à l’automne 2011, une formation de cinq musiciens qui mélange des racines blues, guitares rock’n’roll et des compositions psychédéliques conduites par le sitar.
♦♦♦   Résolument éclectiques, Moaning Cities oscillent à travers différents courants, leur musique trouve racine dans le rock’n’roll psychédélique des années 60 et 70 (The Doors, Velvet Underground, 13th Floor Elevator, Silver Apples, ...) et se retrouve aussi dans la scène psyché/ kraut/stoner actuelle: BRMC, The Black Angels, Dead Meadow, Goat, Wooden Shjips, Night Beats...
