Pool — Harm (Single review)
≡ With the re–emergence of guitar bands, indie trio, Pool have come onto the scene with something a bit different. Based in Hamburg, Germany, Daniel Husten, David Stoltzenberg and Nils Hansen have been experimenting with music since the age of 14.
≡ Simply laid out, drums, bass and guitar, the husky, mellow tones from vocalists David and Nils really do accompany the single perfectly. WIth subtle drum beats rippling through with the funky guitar riff, plenty of head shaking and foot tapping is required.
≡ They seem to take the genre of indie into their own individual way. Recently being on tour with Digitalism, Gold Panda, Wild Nothing, Jamaica, Django Django and some more, they are getting their presence recognised by the alternative atmosphere.
≡ Pretty much having “Harm” as the official anthem of the Berlin Festival 2013, they are doing pretty well. It’s got the right amount of dancey and indie clashes. I’ll be looking forward to see them touring round the UK when they do. :: http://vulturehound.co.uk/
≡ Tonight you’ll get a taste of fresh indie pop from Hamburg live at the Berghain Kantine. The three guys from Pool have made a few rounds at several festivals in the past years including Melt!, South by Southwest, Fusion and the Reeperbahn Festival and now they are finally releasing their debut album Snacks & Supplies on April 24, 2015 which is gonna be a perfect soundtrack for the upcoming summer. The upbeat record is showing guitar pop from Germany at its best with catchy tunes and a down–to–earth attitude. The new video for the first single State of Mind is a little short film with a modern day Bonnie and Clyde story. Too bad the boys from the band are not in it because they are quite the eye candy. Let’s look at some photos of them and enjoy the video after the jump.
