Selah Sue — Reason (Deluxe Edition) (April 7, 2015)
• Fenomenální zpěvačka. A to jsem teprve na tr. 12/32. Je jemňoulinká tam, kde má být, zároveň však důrazná a naprosto přesná. Nic nepřehrává, pořád je konkrétní, ne zbytečně vznosná. A to nejdůležitější: není spřízněná zlodějinou, tento druh originality si buduje sama a postupnými kroky. První, eponymní album v BEL: 4× Platinum, FRA: 2× Platinum, POL: Platinum, NL: Platinum. Album “Reason” v BEL: Gold. Jak se sama vyjádřila, v rodině nenastalo žádné zametání cestiček. A to se cení obzvlášť. “I grew up in a really little town in Belgium, and none of my family was into music...”

Editorial Reviews
• 2015 release from the Belgian singer/songwriter. Four years have gone by since her debut album and Selah Sue might not be over her demons but she’s at least harnessed them to compose the songs of Reason, gorged with energy, light and emotion. These songs sweep you over from the first bars, coming from an artist who’s at once full of life and full of scars, who always seems to be one with her guitar. • “Success hasn’t healed my wounds”, she says. “Nothing has really changed. It’s a journey, a battle that will last my entire life.”
Description:
• Selah Sue is in an exciting and thrilling new phase of her career. After launching her very successful self titled debut album in 2011, the singer is planning the release of new material after years of touring and writing. It is still astonishing to realize that her big, raspy voice comes out of a cute, small, blonde Belgian girl. The contrast between her speaking in between of the songs and her singing is huge, but that is part of the charm watching her. I remember visiting a concert by her in 2011 in Paradiso and it is obvious that she is now even more confident and free on stage. She just shines the whole way through and it is clear that she enjoys every little bit of it and this enthusiasm is contagious, judging by the good vibe in the audience. I for one am waiting for that second album and would love to hear those tracks again live after the release.
Upcoming:
» Dec 04 Heineken Music Hall Amsterdam, Netherlands
» Dec 05 Vorst Nationaal Brussels, Belgium
» Dec 17 Babylon Bomonti Istanbul, Turkey
» Dec 18 Fuzz Club Athens, Greece
• Genre–bending Belgian singer/songwriter Selah Sue was born Sanne Putseys on May 3, 1989 in the city of Leuven, and raised in nearby Leefdaal.
• She began playing acoustic guitar and composing her own songs at the age of 15, and by her late teens had skillfully refined her signature blend of soul, hip–hop, funk, and reggae into a powerful force. Part Adele and part Erykah Badu, Sue honed her craft at home, in studios, and in clubs before gaining momentum through appearances at major festivals and on Flemish television shows. By the age of 20 she had secured a record deal and found herself in the studio with the likes of Farhot and Patrice, Me’Shell Ndegéocello, and Cee–Lo Green (she was even asked by Prince to open up a show in Antwerp). Selah Sue released her eponymous debut album in March of 2011. ~ James Christopher Monger
