This is a fantastic 2 CD music compilation of hits from the talented female rock musician, Sheryl Crow’s 20 year musical career in the Icon series. As with many compilation CDs, not everybody will 100% be satisfied as his/her favourite track/s may have been overlooked or left out! A 2 CD (24 songs) compilation is a reasonable size considering her 7 studio CD releases she has dished out so far : there is a good representation of her hits/music from her debut album to her 2010′s ’100 Miles From Memphis’, though only “Summer Day” coming from it. Disc 1 (12 songs) has stand outs as “All I Wanna Do”, “If It Makes You Happy”, “Strong Enough”, “Everyday Is A Winding Road”, “Leaving Las Vegas” (her career first single, released twice as the first release rather did poorly.
Disc 2 (12 songs) has stand outs as “Home”, “Hard To Make A Stand”, “Summer Day” & “Tomorrow Never Dies” (soundtrack from James Bond’s movie of the same name). On overall, this is a fantastic representation of Sheryl Crow’s great musical career & hits.

After graduating from college, Crow worked as a music teacher at the Kellison elementary school, in Fenton, Missouri. Teaching during the day allowed her the opportunity to sing in bands on weekends. Later, she was introduced to local musician and producer Jay Oliver. He had a thriving studio in the basement of his parents' home, in St. Louis, and helped her by using her in advertising jingles. Her first jingle was a back-to-school spot for the St. Louis department store Famous-Barr. McDonald's and Toyota commercial jingles soon followed. She was quoted in a 60 Minutes segment as saying she made $40,000 on her McDonald's commercial alone.
Amazon Editorial Reviews:
Presenting a new collection of hits from one of today's leaders of the female rock movement. Whether it's a tender ballad, a catchy pop song or good old rock n' roll, it's all here. ICON is Sheryl's first 2-CD greatest hits compilation including all the hits from her almost 20-year career, from her earliest days right through her latest release, "100 Miles From Memphis."

Review by Steve Leggett
Sheryl Crow's sense of melody, flow, and pop dynamics have served her well since her huge splash with her debut album Tuesday Night Music Club in 1993, and her bright rock swagger makes her seem a bit like a California version of Chrissie Hynde: both know how to sound personal and universal in a three-minute single on the radio. This two-disc set collects the most commercial and essential sides from Crow's career, and it includes the hits "Leaving Las Vegas," "All I Wanna Do," "If It Makes You Happy," "Everyday Is a Winding Road," "A Change Would Do You Good," and "Soak Up the Sun," among other key tracks. Put together like this, all in a row, it reveals a pretty impressive pop legacy.
