We're not as good at describing ourselves as others are, so...

Description:
¶ 2012 was supposed to be our year off. Let's ease back a bit, spend some time reflecting, chewing the fat. Hmmmm. An acoustic album, two tours, fifteen festivals, an Edinburgh theatre performance and six Crypt Covers later and we decided to make another album. This is a record in the truest sense of the word: a record of two months in the band's life when we locked ourselves in the Crypt with no preconceived ideas, no plan and no expectations and just wrote some music. We armed ourselves with Ray Charles' Greatest Hits, a VHS copy of The Commitments and a lot of fast food and just played to see what would happen. Basically, this is it. No huge agenda and no point to prove this time. A diary...or a...record.

¶ A lovely CD with a bear on it presented inside a bespoke card wallet, designed inside the House of Hope and paid for with the tears of folkie singers. Go on, you'll treasure it for days.
¶ As usual it's pay what you want or pay what you think it's worth...the minimum price of £1.60 literally only covers the cost of the physical production of the CD and you get a link to the download with your receipt so you can download and listen straight away! We want people to have this album, to enjoy it and to share it around but obviously we're also trying to make ends meet. So if you're not so flush at the moment just pay the £1.60...or just download the digital version below for whatever you want to pay. ¶ Even free - we don't even ask for your email address.
¶ If you feel moved to maybe float us a bit more then as ever, we do very much appreciate it. It's a fairly simple equation... your money makes this music.
Crockery and Lies (6:52)
Lyrics:
You're falling like a spent cigar
Shifting like a cheap guitar
Cos where she was before
There's nothing there
Scattered like a Lego set
Pieces thrown out everywhere
The bits we need are there
They're just hidden well or need repair
And there's no point going back to before
There's nothing I can say or do
To try and fill these days for you
The crockery and lies
And a decor you despise
And there's no point going back to before
Because fate had your arse nailed when she walked through your door
There's no point at all
I'm coming over right away
My coat is on I'm on my way
Cos where she was before
There's nothing there
Don't give up and don't give in
If this don't kill you nothing will
The crockery and lies
And a decor you despise
And there's no point going back to before
Because fate had your arse nailed when she walked through your door
There's no point at all.
